The opening ceremony of the Diplomatic and Security Policy Course

 at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College

 

A training course entitled "Diplomacy and International Security Policy" was opened at the Jordanian National Defense College on Sunday, in cooperation with the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP).

“Holding such courses comes as a result of His Majesty King Abdullah II the visions and implementation of the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army policy to connect with the major international academic institutions together with the national academic institutions. And in light of the directions of the Royal Jordanian Defense College and the Geneva Center for Security Policy in establishing this communication and rehabilitating promising leadership elements in the countries of the world in the field of diplomacy and international security policy.” said Brigadier General Abdullah Salem Al-Shudeifat.

"The convening of such an important session here in the field of diplomacy and international security policy is due to the prestigious position of the RJNDC among its counterparts in the national defense academies" said Col. Christian Pullman, director of the Regional Development Program at the Geneva Center for Security Policy.

The aim of this course is to ensure a regular communication between the RJNDC, the Geneva Center for Security Policy, the promising leaders in different countries of the world to exchange views and ideas on the basic concepts of diplomacy and international security policy. In addition, establishing a common understanding on mutual concern topics, trains officers on local and international procedures to deal with various elements of national and international security in multinational environment and cultures within their future career.

It is worth noting that this session is the 11th of its kind held by the RJNDC in cooperation with the Geneva Center for Security Policy with the participation of Mediterranean Dialogue Countries, Istanbul Cooperation Initiative countries, Partnership Countries for Peace and NATO as well as Jordan.
