On Sunday behalf of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Assistant for Operations and Training inaugurated the 22nd National Defense Course and the 8th Master's Program in Strategies for Countering Extremism and Terrorism at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College The course was attended by the Assistant for Administration and Human Resources, the College Commandant, a number of senior officers from the armed forces and security agencies, and military attachés from participating sister and friendly countries

 

The Assistant for Operations and Training conveyed to the participants the pride of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordanian Armed Forces, and the greetings of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in their enrollment at this distinguished academic institution, wishing them success in this course

 

He added, "The National Defense College represents the primary incubator for strategic thinking and planning, and for the preparation of statesmen in various civil and military fields. It has contributed to providing state institutions at the local, regional, and international levels with qualified personnel capable of making effective and qualitative contributions to the decision-making process."

 

The Assistant for Operations and Training pointed out that national security, in its comprehensive sense, is the primary concern of all countries, especially in light of the escalating and diversifying pace of threats and challenges, the intersection of international relations and interests, and the increasing complexity therein. This requires the presence of civil and military intellectual elites who possess the strategic visions capable of studying and adapting to changes in the strategic environment, capitalizing on opportunities, and harnessing them to serve national security.

 

The Mufti of the Armed Forces delivered a speech in which he said: "One of the most honorable and sought-after sciences is military education, as it prepares forces and creates leaders capable of assuming responsibility in all fields and under all circumstances. Therefore, God Almighty has charged our nation with carrying and protecting the banner of truth."

 

He added, "You have come a long way in strategic expertise and the art of leadership and management, and this is a new opportunity for further learning and knowledge that you will gain in this course

 

It is noteworthy that the Royal Jordanian National Defense College is concerned with preparing and qualifying selected leadership elements from the civilian and military sectors in the field of defense and strategic studies and analysis of the elements influencing national security, so that they can work in senior leadership positions at the level of state administration and the armed forces, within a framework of constants and variables
