Chief Justice Sheikh Abdul Hafiz
Rabtah, delivered a lecture on Monday, at the Royal Jordanian National Defense
College, titled "Introducing the Chief Justice's Department and Its Role
in Preserving National Security."
The lecture was delivered to scholars in the
21st National Defense Course and the 7th Master's Program in Strategies for
Countering Extremism and Terrorism. The lecture was attended by the College
Commandant, Brigadier General Khaled Bani Younis, and the head and members of
the College's directing staff.
In the lecture, His Eminence reviewed
several topics related to the history of the Sharia judiciary in the Kingdom,
the jurisdiction of Sharia courts, and the developments they have achieved and
that the Chief Justice's Department seeks to achieve.
His Eminence highlighted the role of
the Chief Justice's Department in maintaining the stability of community
security by activating alternative dispute resolutions and adjudicating matters
of personal status, endowments, and blood money through a qualified staff and
modern technologies.
At the end of the lecture, an
extended discussion took place, during which His Eminence Sheikh Rabtah
answered questions and inquiries from the audience.
