The
National Democratic Institute (NDI) course was launched today, Sunday, at the
Royal Jordanian National Defense College, in cooperation with the National
Democratic Institute (NDI) in Jordan, with the participation of a number of Jordanian
university students.
The
course aims to raise community awareness about promoting moderation and
combating extremist ideology, in addition to strengthening the concepts of
citizenship. It also aims to highlight the role of the armed forces in promoting
moderate thought and combating intellectual extremism, thereby enhancing the
national and humanitarian image of the Jordanian Armed Forces.
It
also aims to promote a culture of tolerance and the rejection of violence,
based on the premise that "thought can only be combated by thought."
It
is worth noting that the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in Jordan operates
within cooperative agreements and partnerships with numerous official and
unofficial institutions, both civilian and military, and civil society
organizations, with the aim of promoting democratic values and practices,
citizenship, and enhancing community participation in public life.
