On Tuesday Engineer Samir Habashneh delivered a lecture to scholar s in
the 20th Defense Course and the 7th Master's Program in Strategies for
Countering Extremism and Terrorism at the Royal Jordanian National Defense
College The lecture was titled "Jordanian Personality and National
Identity," with the attendance of the college's chairman and members of
its diercting staff.
He stated that Jordanians' national identity, with its Arab references,
is rooted in a heritage model of Islamic-Christian coexistence, which has
historically been stable. This identity was entrenched with its positive
connotations and became more prominent when the historic contract was concluded
between Jordan's leaders and the founding king, may God have mercy on him. This
demonstrated that Jordanians supported the founding king in his quest to
achieve Arab unity.
At the end of the lecture, an open dialogue took place during which the
guest answered the scholars' questions and inquiries.
