On Tuesday The Chief of General Staff of the
Mauritanian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mokhtar Billah Shaaban, met scholaras in the 21st Defense Course and the
7th Master's Program in Strategies for Countering Extremism and Terrorism at
the Royal Jordanian National Defense College. The meeting was attended by the
College Commandant, the Chairman and members of the directing staff, and the
accompanying delegation.
At
the beginning of the meeting, the Lieutenant General expressed his pride in
visiting the College, a prominent military institution that graduates leaders
at both the civilian and military levels.
During
the meeting, the Lieutenant General discussed strategic information about the
Islamic Republic of Mauritania, related to its vital strategic location as a
link between the Arab world and the African continent, and a cultural and
civilizational hub.
The
Mauritanian Chief of Staff spoke about global geopolitical transformations and
their impact on the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in the current context.
He
emphasized the importance of developing strategic scientific methods to address
major challenges, noting that the Islamic Republic of Mauritania faces numerous
security threats, most notably terrorism emanating from countries neighboring
the Republic of Mauritania. This threat requires significant efforts, both
locally and regionally, in addition to the need for international alliances to
confront this threat.
At
the end of the visit, the visitor wrote a note in the guestbook, praising the
college's distinguished academic level on a global strategic level.
