On
Sunday The Royal Jordanian National Defense College (RJNDC) opened a Defense
and Diplomacy Training Course for Military Attachés, in cooperation with the
Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP).
In
his opening remarks, the college's commandant said, "Holding such courses
fulfills the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II and implements the policy
of the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army to communicate with
major international academic institutions alongside national academic
institutions. This is in light of the efforts of both the RJNDC and the GCSP to
establish this communication and train promising leaders from around the world
in the field of diplomacy and international security policy."
Colonel
Laurent Currit, Director of Training at the GCSP, explained that holding such a
course is due to the important and prestigious position the RJNDC enjoys among
its peers among international national defense colleges.
This
course aims to familiarize military attachés in countries across the Middle
East and the Mediterranean with communication skills and methods for obtaining
information from open sources.
It
is worth noting that this is the eleventh course of its kind held by the Royal
Jordanian National Defense College in cooperation with the Geneva Center for
Security Policy, with the participation of the Atlantic-Mediterranean Dialogue
countries, the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative countries, the Partnership for
Peace countries, NATO, and Jordan.
