The Minister of Investment lectures at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College

On Tuesday, the Minister of Investment, Kholoud Al-Saqqaf, delivered a lecture at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College for scholars in the 20th Defense Course, entitled "Investment Promotion Policies", in the presence of the College Commandant, Brigadier General Azzam reviewed the reality of the investment environment in Jordan and the comparative and competitive advantages enjoyed by the Kingdom, which made it an attractive climate for businessmen, through a comprehensive analysis of all legislative, institutional and procedural dimensions, indicating the possible opportunities and economic challenges facing Jordan to improve the business environment in it, which contributes to attracting more of economic projects The Minister of Investment indicated the importance of the role of all government agencies and departments, including security institutions and the private sector, in the development process in order to achieve national goals, in addition to the efforts made by Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein in attracting investments and the steps that successive governments are working to implement within His Majesty's vision and guidance. Regarding the importance of investment and its role in development and revitalization of the national economy, Al-Saqqaf said: "Many economic reforms have been undertaken, such as approving the Investment Environment Law of 2022 and the Investment Environment Regulation System of 2023 to provide a supportive environment for existing investments, in addition to creating attractive conditions for investment," explaining that the law The system came in full partnership with the private sector, and included many advantages and attractive incentives for investors, and according to it, the Ministry of Investment was created to be the main reference for investment in the Kingdom. The Minister of Investment indicated the ambitious economic goals that the Ministry seeks to achieve during the coming years, which are in line with the roadmap for implementing the vision of economic modernization, which aims to attract investment projects and generate job opportunities, noting the Ministry's role in attracting and enabling investments, and its future plans in improving the business environment in the Kingdom. Indicating that with the aim of simplifying and facilitating the procedures for registering and licensing investment projects, the first phase of comprehensive electronic services related to economic activities was launched, in a way that ensures transparency in dealing with applications in addition to shortening the time and effort of the investor. Al-Saqqaf explained that work is underway to prepare an integrated investment platform (INVEST.JO) in accordance with international best practices in this field, to introduce the Kingdom's environment and competitive advantages, highlight promising investment opportunities in all sectors, and to facilitate communication with investors locally and globally. At the end of the lecture, an extensive discussion took place during which the minister answered the scholars' questions and inquiries.
