On Monday, the Director General of the Standards and Metrology Institution, Eng. Abeer Barakat Al-Zuhair, delivered a lecture entitled "The Impact of the Standards and Metrology Institution's Strategy on National Security", for scholars in the 20th National Defense Course, in the presence of the College Commandant, Brigadier General
Al-Zuhair said, "National security is the state's ability not only to protect the country from the threats it faces, but also to the state's ability to protect its citizens and improve the quality and standard of life."
Al-Zuhair indicated that the mission of the Standards and Metrology Institution is based on enhancing confidence in the quality of products and supporting the competitiveness of the national economy through the application and development of standardization, metrology and conformity assessment activities through effective partnerships in accordance with best practices.
Al-Zuhair stressed that the institution aims to enhance confidence in the quality and safety of products in accordance with best practices and to upgrade conformity assessment activities to create an attractive economic competitive environment and to develop national standards and standards systems in line with international practices, in addition to developing institutional performance efficiently and effectively according to standards of excellence.
At the end of the lecture, an extensive discussion took place during which the Director General of the Institution for Standards and Metrology answered the questions and inquiries of the learners.
