On Monday, the President of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Khaled Toukan, delivered a lecture to scholars in the 19th National Defense Course entitled Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, a case study of the "Jordanian nuclear program", in the presence of commander, head and members of the directing staff at the college. Dr. Toukan said: "The Jordan Atomic Energy Commission was established in early 2008, in implementation of the National Nuclear Energy Strategy, with the aim of transferring the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and radiation technology to the Kingdom and developing its use for electricity generation, water desalination and in other nuclear fields and applications The head of the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission indicated that the Jordanian nuclear program consists of three main axes: the project to establish a nuclear power plant to produce electricity and desalinate water using nuclear reactors, and the project to exploit the natural nuclear resources in Jordan, especially uranium, in addition to building and developing Jordanian capabilities and human cadres At the end of the lecture, an extensive discussion took place, during which the guest lecturer answered the questions and inquiries of the scholars
