His Majesty The King attends Royal Jordanian National Defence College graduation

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Monday at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College, attended the graduation of the 18th National Defence course, master's in “Management and Strategic Studies”, and the 4th class of the master’s programme in “Strategies to Confront Extremism and Terrorism.”

The two programmes saw participation from JAF and security agencies’ personnel, employees from ministries and national institutions, and officers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Pakistan.

King Abdullah was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hneiti and the commandant of the college.

The commander of the college, Brigadier General P.S.C. Awad Al-Tarawneh, said that the college is proud to present to the homeland, the armed forces and the participating countries, a new constellation of promising leaders who have received advanced scientific and intellectual qualifications in line with the requirements of the times and comparable to the high levels of strategic qualification in major universities, institutes and academies in the world.

He noted that the college has seen significant progress, in the context of keep up with modern requirements, and applying the insights of His Majesty The King, and the message of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army in modernization and development.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Their Royal Highnesses Princes Feisal bin Al Hussein and Rashid bin El Hassan; Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Khasawneh; Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi; Public Security Directorate Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh; the Royal Jordanian Air Force commander; Mutah University president; and the military attachés of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Pakistan.

His Majesty also signed the guestbook at the college, expressing pride in the advanced level of academic and military course  at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College.
