On
Tuesday ,The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Expatriates, Ambassador Dhaifallah Al-Fayez, delivered a lecture at the Royal
Jordanian National Defense College, entitled "The Ministry of Foreign
Affairs' Strategy and its Role in Enhancing National Security," to
scholars in the 23rd National Defense Course. The lecture was attended by the
Commandant, the Head and membersof the
Directing Staff.
Al-Fayez stated that national security is a top priority for
the state, which invests heavily in it to maintain its stability. He explained
that the Kingdom's foreign policy and objectives, under the leadership of His
Majesty King Abdullah II, are based on firm principles in dealing with regional
and international developments. He further clarified that His Majesty's role in
shaping this policy has enabled the Kingdom to strengthen its role as an active
player in its regional and international environment.
Al-Fayez explained that the Ministry's strategy is based on
an active and distinguished Jordanian diplomacy at both the regional and
international levels, through its constant pursuit of serving the state's
highest interests. He clarified that the Ministry's mission focuses on
achieving its objectives, protecting national interests, preserving the
Kingdom's gains, and enhancing its regional and international role and
standing. This includes serving the national economy, caring for the affairs of
expatriates abroad, and improving the quality of services provided. The
Ministry's work is based on partnership, initiative, leadership, excellence,
innovation, transparency, responsibility, and teamwork.
Ambassador Al-Fayez reviewed the most prominent developments
in regional issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, which remains
the central issue. He pointed to the continuous efforts exerted by Jordan, in
coordination with its Arab brethren and in cooperation with the international
community, to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that achieves security and
stability and serves the interests of the region's peoples.
At the end of the lecture, an extensive discussion took
place during which the lecturer answered the scholars' questions and inquiries.
