The Commandant of the Royal Jordanian National Defense College
inaugurated today, Sunday, the second round of the Strategic Dialogue Program
for lecturers of Military Science and Citizenship at Jordanian universities.
The opening was attended by the Director of Military Education and Culture, the
Chairman and members of the Guidance Board, and the Director of the University
Education Department.
This program is part of a series of academic initiatives being
implemented in cooperation with the Directorate of Military Education and
Culture, in line with the Royal Vision and in execution of the directives of
the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces to engage with national
institutions and build strategic partnerships.
The program aims to establish a structured channel of communication
between the Royal Jordanian National Defense College and public and private
universities—via the University Education Department—to address current,
emerging, and future issues related to Jordan’s national security. It also
explores matters linked to strategic thinking, statecraft, and crisis
management, with a forward-looking approach to problem-solving for emerging
challenges.
Furthermore, the program seeks to deepen national awareness by
reinforcing historical identity, promoting the values of citizenship, and
cultivating patriotism. This is achieved through Military Science lecturers at
both public and private universities, with the broader goal of enhancing the
educational output of Jordanian university graduates and preparing generations
that are well-informed about national and regional issues. The initiative also
aims to empower faculty members within the military sciences departments and
strengthen their role in higher education, while fostering trust and
integration with national institutions.
In his address, the Commandant of the College highlighted the importance
of such programs in promoting the concept of national security and generating
actionable feedback from participants to serve national objectives. He noted
that this target group has the greatest influence on youth—the true wealth and
future defense of the nation—drawing inspiration from the Royal Vision that
emphasizes the development of human capital through education and learning,
while leveraging modern communication tools and technologies.
