Former Deputy Prime Minister and economic expert Dr. Jawad
Anani said: Achieving economic sustainability requires a comprehensive and
clear vision for economic policies. This calls for increased integrated efforts
from all stakeholders to achieve true development that benefits society as a
whole.
This came during a lecture he delivered today at the Royal
Jordanian National Defense College, titled "The Local, Regional, and
International Economic Environment and Its Impact on the Jordanian
Economy," for scholars in the 23rd Defense Course. The lecture was
attended by the college commandant, the head of the directing staff, and
members of directing staff.
Anani explained the most important measures that must be
taken to address external fluctuations and the importance of competitiveness,
implementing a system of political and administrative reform, economic
modernization, and raising the level of research and development.
Anani emphasized the importance of intensifying cooperation
between the public and private sectors to enhance the investment environment,
encourage economic growth, and exploit opportunities to achieve sustainable
economic growth in Jordan. He also emphasized the principle of self-reliance,
diversifying economic partnerships, developing national productive sectors, and
improving the local investment environment.

Kingdom and the opportunities available amidst the turbulent regional
conditions, emphasizing the need to focus on a productive economy by exploiting
local resources and supporting basic industries to achieve comprehensive
national security.
