On
Wednesday Engineer Samir Habashneh delivered a lecture to scholars in the 22nd
Defense Course and the 8th Master's Program in Strategies for Countering
Extremism and Terrorism at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College . The
lecture was titled "Jordanian Identity and Personality," attended by
the College's commander, president, and members of its steering committee.
He
stated that the Jordanian personality is a derivative of the balanced Arab
personality throughout history, with all its qualities, blending Arab heritage
with the values of tolerant Islam and its Levantine character, founded on the
principles of coexistence, harmony, and mutual support under the umbrella of
Arab identity, encompassing all its diverse cultural components, including
ethnicities, religions, sects, and denominations.
He
explained that the concept of Jordanian identity, the political and social
environment, and the elements of the national state forces are concepts derived
from the reality of the Jordanian experience and Jordanian performance, with
its historical dimension, material performance, and steadfast moral values.
He
emphasized that contemporary Jordanian history is revealed when we mention the
Palestinian cause, a cause that clearly expresses our identity and belonging to
this nation. He emphasized that the Palestinian cause is not only an Arab issue
for Jordan, but rather an internal Jordanian issue for the country's
leadership, the Jordanian people, and the armed forces, which have always been
at the forefront of defending the freedom and Arab identity of Palestine.
At
the end of the lecture, an open dialogue took place during which the guest
answered the students' questions and inquiries.
