Dr
al nsour delivered a lecture to the
National Defense Course and the Strategies for Confronting Extremism and
Terrorism Program, Dr. Al-Nsour emphasized that industrial planning is a
fundamental pillar for achieving the objectives of the Challenge Vision.
During
a visit by members of the National Defense Course 22/2025
and
the Strategies for Confronting Extremism and Terrorism Program to the company's
headquarters in Ghor Al-Safi, Dr. Maan Al-Nsour, CEO of the Arab Potash
Company, emphasized the pivotal role played by the industrial sector in
supporting the Jordanian national economy
It
contributes 21.4% of the gross domestic product (GDP), according to 2023
statistics, making it one of the most important economic sectors in Jordan
Industrial
exports also constitute 94.3% of total national exports
During
the meeting, which was attended by the Commandant of the Royal Jordanian
National Defense College,Brigadier
General Khaled Bani Younis, and members of the College's directing staff, Dr.
Ensour gave a lecture titled "Industrial Planning in Jordan: The Arab
Potash Company as a Model." He noted that the Jordanian industrial sector
is undergoing significant transformations within the framework of the Economic
Modernization Vision (2022-2023)
and
the Industrial Policy for the years 2024-2028. Through the Economic
Modernization Vision, the government seeks to enhance the sector's
competitiveness, increase its contribution to the gross domestic product, and
create job opportunities. Meanwhile, the industrial policy focuses on
diversifying industrial products, increasing the added value of manufacturing,
enhancing the competitive production environment, stimulating exports,
developing human capabilities, and promoting environmental sustainability.
Dr.
Ensour pointed out that the industrial sector in Jordan is working with
relevant authorities to implement the initiatives included in the Economic
Modernization Vision, which will create the necessary enablers to advance and
achieve growth for the Jordanian industrial sector through the implementation
of innovative solutions such as renewable energy projects, along with
sustainable water supply and security projects.
Dr.
Ensour pointed out that the Arab Potash Company is a role model in this
context, working to implement its strategic plans in line with the goals of
economic modernization, which aim to enhance economic growth and increase
Jordanian job opportunities. He explained that the company is working to
maximize its contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) through expansion
projects, which aim to increase its production and become one of the leading
potash producers by 2033.
Dr.
Ensour explained that the targeted projects are not limited to increasing
production quantities. Rather, the company also seeks to expand its production
portfolio by investing in several complementary and derivative industries,
which will enhance the added value of Jordanian industry.
Dr.
Ensour emphasized that the Arab Potash Company is committed to adopting best
environmental practices by adopting renewable energy and water projects, which
contribute to meeting the company's future needs in light of its targeted projects,
in addition to achieving environmental goals related to sustainability and
reducing carbon emissions.
Dr.
Ensour indicated that the company's marketing plans have enabled it to increase
sales volumes and achieve high price levels
Dr.
Al-Nsour explained that the company is working to create an innovative work
environment based on digitization and artificial intelligence, enhancing
research activity through expanding R&D and innovation activities. This
will contribute to increasing production efficiency and developing work
mechanisms, as well as enhancing the company's competitiveness in global
markets
Dr.
Al-Nsour also indicated that companies are currently studying the possibility
of developing new projects aimed at achieving integration between the various
fertilizer and chemical industries in the Kingdom, with the goal of enhancing
the Kingdom's competitiveness in global markets
Dr.
Al-Nsour praised the ongoing support provided by the Jordanian government,
represented by ministers and institutions involved in the mining sector, in
facilitating the company's work and supporting it to achieve further
accomplishments. He also thanked the Jordanian Armed Forces for their role in
implementing parts of the Southern Expansion Project, which will contribute to
increasing the company's production capacity.
For
his part, Brigadier General Khaled bin Younis, Commander of the Royal Jordanian
National Defense College, expressed his appreciation for the role of the Arab
Potash Company in supporting the Kingdom's national economy and its plans to
advance the industrial sector. He praised the cooperation between the Arab
Potash Company and the Jordanian Armed Forces, as well as the organization of
events and activities to inform course participants of the company's actual
experiences and success stories over the past years.
At
the conclusion of the visit, members of the National Defense Course and the
Counter-Extremism and Terrorism Strategies Program toured the Arab Potash
Company's factories and facilities, where they were briefed on the latest
technologies used in production and manufacturing processes
